Liberty of London has opened its first stand-alone accessories outlet on London's prestigious Sloane Street.

The store is a showcase for the luxury label's leather accessories, swimwear, jewellery, scarf and menswear collections.

Liberty creative director Tamara Salman worked with Parisian architects Pierre Beucler and Jean-Christophe Poggioli to create the 1,800sq ft store, set over two floors.

"I want to create the ideal backdrop for Liberty's decadent mix of beautiful products," says Salman. "I hope it will echo Liberty's opulent past, while projecting a unique and contemporary vision of the brand today."

A Liberty spokesman says: "The store is inspired by Liberty's Regent Street store and the Liberty of London brand, but in a modern setting."

The stucco wall and ceiling decoration is taken from Liberty archives and the walls and fittings are in the brand's signature gold and black.

The new store is a trial concept that may be rolled out globally to locations such as New York or Tokyo, but nothing is confirmed, says the spokesman.
